An ideal candidate is a women of 18-35 years of age, who is of good health physically, mentally and emotionally. She has lived a sacramental life in the Catholic Church for at least 2-3 years after conversion to the Church or reversion back to the Church.

The Franciscan Sisters of the Pure Heart is an active/contemplative order. The purpose for our consecration is intimacy with God, it is from there that our apostolic work flows. We pray the 5 hours of Liturgy of the Hours, daily celebration of the Mass, the Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and a daily Eucharistic Holy Hour.

Phone call – After the initial email, a sister will reach out to you to schedule a time to talk about your discernment.
Discernment Retreat – Register now for an upcoming discernment retreat and share in our life!
Application – If there is a mutual recognition that the Franciscan Sisters of the Pure Heart are a good fit, the application process may begin. This involves multiple and various steps which assess the applicant’s spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional aptitude for the rigorous life of a woman religious.
Prepare to Enter – In the joy of being accepted, the young woman is given guidance from the community as to what she needs to do to be ready to enter the Franciscan Sisters of the Pure Heart.

The Franciscan Sisters of the Pure Heart are a bilingual community that will work hand-to hand with the immigrant community. While we will prefer for the sister to be bilingual (fluent in both English and Spanish) they do not have to be initially.

Not to worry at all! You do not have to be sure if you are called to religious life to begin the process. The initial phone call involves getting to know you. If you feel comfortable you can register for our Discernment Retreat.
